The Artist

Jeanne Engesath works in both fine art and illustration from her studio in Port Angeles, Washington. Fifteen years of living in Southeast Alaska have given her a real love of the wildlife and rugged landscapes of the far north. She still considers these among her favorite subjects. Jeanne has studied with some of the foremost wildlife and landscape painters in the country, including John Seerey-Lester, Carl Brenders, Alan Hunt, Nancy Stonington, George Strickland, and Don Demers.

She has won numerous regional awards in both Alaska and Washington as well as the Scottsdale Artist School's Scholarship Award in Scottsdale, Arizona. Her work is in collections throughout the country. Her wildlife and landscape-oriented art is distributed throughout the northwest to a variety of gift shops, including Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium in Tacoma and the Olympic Game Farm in Sequim.

Jeanne has worked as a freelance illustrator for the Northwest Interpretive Center at Olympic National Park. Her projects for the Interpretive Center include a collection of pen and ink clip art illustrations of a variety of indigenous wildlife and plants as well as destination locations, a cover design for the Children's Discovery Room Guidebook, and a map of the park.
